9.30-11.00 Introduction to Design Thinking: positive, creative thinking (theory + team work). The notion of design has grown to embrace strategic development and innovation. The thinking behind design and the methods applied are user-centered, creative and encourage innovativeness. They do not offer one right solution to a problem, but aim at outcomes that are not automated or predetermined.
11.15-12.45 Personalities: customers and teams (theory + team work). Should the personalities of the customers affect the innovation and design of new services we offer them? Can it be used for segmentation, too? How does personality affect teamwork? Dividing teams and roles based on personalities for the rest of the day.
13.45-15.00 Source of innovation: Needs and demand. Perceived value (case examples + team work).
Successful innovation is focusing on demand and the needs of the customers more than ever before. Facilities, competencies and processes are not enough?
15.15-16.45 Designing the future instead of responding to it (initiating the day 2 team work by building scenarios).
9.30-11.00 Identifying opportunities for new services (team work).
Building on the scenarios, we workshop new opportunities and deepen them by attaching customer personas to them.
11.15-12.45 Selecting opportunities and innovating new solutions for them (theory + team work). We select the opportunities: build use cases for them, innovate sequences of actions and identify actors in them to define the requirements for the new service ideas.
13.45-15.00 Modeling the service (theory + team work). We select one service idea per team and using visual tools, define the way it can be run - and how it forms a holistic, valuable experience for the customer.
15.15-16.45 Wrap-up. Teams present their ideas (discussion).The teams present their ideas. We end by discussing about the insights and problems encountered during the 2 days.
