Visiting India with Erasmus
From 25.04.–03.05.2017 Heli Tooman (Associate Professor of Tourism Management) and Marit Piirman (project manager of Competence Centre for Tourism) used ERASMUS+ funding to visit University of Tartu partner university Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya in India, Haridwar.
The week was full of interesting collaboration meetings, study visits and discussions. Heli Tooman held a lecture about Estonia, University of Tartu and wellness economy, Marit Piirman delivered a presentation about concept of service design, design thinking and service design tools.
In addition to work-related meetings, delegation was invited to experience Indian wedding ceremony. They also visited Himalayan foothills, self-seekers paradise Rishikesh, one of the seventh wonders of the world Taj Mahal and participated in Ganga Aarti.
The main purpose of the visit was to discuss students´ and teachers´ mobility possibilities between Estonia and India, but also to exchange ideas on how to develop new Erasmus+ projects. At the moment there is one Estonian student in Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya. Sten Kapten participates in certificate diploma course in Human Consciousness and Yogic Science.
