For the second year in a row, the International SPA Association (ISPA) Foundation has awarded two recipients to receive the Mary Tabacchi Scholarship. Taylor Toreno from United States, and Anne-Liise Verpson from Estonia (master student of University of Tartu Pärnu college of Wellness and Spa Service Design and Management), were presented with their certificates during the General Session at the 25th annual ISPA Conference & Expo at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev. from October 19-21, 2015.
With the help of the ISPA Foundation, through a wealth of donations, students interested in pursuing a career in spa management will be able to achieve their dreams. It is the ISPA Foundation's hope that students touched by these scholarships will not only provide comfort and care to people who need it but serve as inspirations to others to join the spa profession.
The Mary Tabacchi Scholarship was created in 2006 and named in honor of Mary Tabacchi, Ph.D., RD, Associate Professor, Hospitality Facilities and Operations at Cornell University. Dr. Tabacchi is a beloved spa industry veteran and pioneer in spa education.
