How is it to study in Pärnu? Our international master student tells her story.
I arrived in Parnu in September and, as it goes for students, started attending classes. Little did I know how much this would later influence me. I have never been a part of such a small group of students. And I just loved our discussions, group work and teacher involvement.
Never could have had it in a big group of students. I quickly made some friends – both international and Estonian. Yes, in case you’re wondering, it is harder to make Estonian friends than international (not joking). Give Estonians some time, though, one day they will let you hug them. I swear it will be one of the best days in your life (joking).
Somehow it seems that time goes by slower in Parnu than in the rest of the World. During my year there, I managed to attend all of the classes, take some additional ones, play volleyball, do sports regularly, go to the spas, study, travel back to Poland every two weeks, and even cook.
One of the best things about Parnu and the University is that it actually can help you learn to live the wellness life.
I did healthy shopping, went to do yoga, body balance, aqua running etc. four times a week at least, and had time to develop spiritually and personally. Sounds unbelievable, right? True, I am an active person.
But I also know that every day counts. I did not stay in bed because it was raining, snowing or the wind would mess my hair. I got ready for the weather and went out.
In summer, I have been relaxed and ready “for the rest of my life” to come. I was inspired by everything I learned and the people I met. I was most grateful, however, for the opportunities standing right before me. I knew that spa, health, wellness is what I want to do.
I came back home (Poland) and looked for an internship. I got myself into one of the best spas in my country.
During the initial interview, HR Manager said she has never seen anyone with such an education. You have no idea how proud I was. Read more in our Spa and Wellness Management Blog
