Goal
The goal is to provide specialists who have a basic education in social sciences with applied higher education qualifications. Social work administration for Estonia’s government and social welfare agencies is emphasized. The graduates will thoroughly understand community processes, as well as the services offered by enterprise and social welfare institutions, and the requirements of managing them. The graduates of this program will receive practical experience by working as social workers or social work administrators in private, public and non-profit organisations.
Target Group
This programme is targeted towards those who:
- Have completed post-secondary education in Estonia or an international equivalent and fulfill the acceptance requirements;
- Have an interest in social issues;
- Have a desire to participate in solving social problems and leading social change;
- Have a logical thought process and a general knowledge of society, history, culture and other pertinent areas.
Course Content
The programme consists of four modules: the general orientation module, the business module, and modules I and II for social work administration.
In addition to the required courses elective courses must be completed as well.
A practical component makes up a large portion of applied higher education. The coursework ends with the thesis defense. The entire programme consists of 180 credit ponts.
